spike
pit bull/Siberian husky mix
male--altered
5 years (approximate)
Spike is a big sweetheart. He is a great protector, does not beg, gets along with most dogs, and is crate trained. Spike was surrendered by his owner as they recognized that he was not getting sufficient attention and love. For most of his day, he was chained or in a crate; he was rarely walked. He was surrendered to us to receive better care. A4P has updated his shots, got him fixed, had his teeth cleaned, and we are happy to report he has a clean bill of heath. In his foster home, Spike is LOVING his walks but will need more leash training. He would make a great addition to any family.
Hennessey
German Shepherd mix
male--altered
6 years (approximate)
Hennessey is a wonderful dog towards all humans but would be best in a home as the only dog. At 104 pounds he is a strong dog but a real sweetheart. He is likely not a good match for homes with other pets such as cats. Hennessey loves walks and attention. He has been in foster care for over a year after being pulled from the local shelter where he was not doing well in a crowded environment. Continued training is recommended. Please contact us for additional details!
Toto
Jack Russell terrier mix
male--altered
3 years (approximate)
While available for adoption we are looing for a forever guardian. Please contact us for details about what this status entails.
Toto has not had an easy life. He was rescued from a neglectful situation and has endured more hardships that any pet should. It has left Toto scared both physically and emotionally. Currently in foster care, he is receiving training and has been rebuilding trust in humans, restoring his confidence, and learning that the world can in fact be a loving place. He will take about 2-3 days to gain the trust of a new foster, but once he has done that, you will find that Toto is playful, smart, sweet, and affectionate. He is best in a home with no children or other pets.
Mindy
American Pit Bull terrier mix
Female--altered
1 1/2 years (approximate)
Mindy was living in a local shelter for 7 months before we placed her in foster care. During the first few weeks of her time at the shelter, she responded well to volunteers walking and engaging with her. Sadly, it did not take long for her to start to withdraw. In the last few months at the shelter Mindy was terrified of every noise on her walks to the point where she would not walk at all.

In foster care, Mindy is doing well but is still exhibiting signs of fear to loud noises. Currently she lives in a home with a cat and dog where she gets along with them most of the time. However, based on her interactions, we recommend a home with no small children and perhaps as an only dog. Mindy is still decompressing from her shelter experience and will need more time for her loving personality to return. Mindy needs a forever home that will give her the gift of patience with love.
Minny
Domestic Shorthair mix
Female--altered
7 months (approximate)
Minny was born in foster care from a stray pregnant mother. Our foster generously cared for the litter and their mama and has successfully placed all the kittens and mom into loving forever homes. The foster wants to keep Minny's brother, but is unable to keep her as well.
She gets along great with the foster's 3 year old daughter, plays with her brother, and their toy terrier named Captain. Minny is adventurous and active and would make a wonderful addition to any home.
